Tokyo teams up with B2B events specialist for third luxury forum

B2B travel events specialist Connections is to host the third edition of its Tokyo luxury forum in November.

Connections Luxury Tokyo will run from November 13-16 in partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Connections is part of the portfolio of Travel Weekly parent Jacobs Media Group and specialises in forging business relationships through shared memorable experiences.

The forum will connect luxury travel suppliers and global buyers, who will get to experience the city’s culture, cuisine and top-end offering.

Kazuomi Yamashita, tourist promotion department director for Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau, said: “Connections Luxury Tokyo 2022 will be the first event since the pandemic to showcase the destination to global luxury agencies. It will be pivotal to the recovery of our tourism industry.

“We are thrilled to once again welcome luxury travel buyers to our ever-evolving city, and we are confident that this event will make a substantial contribution to both buyers and Tokyo suppliers to rebuild their network and kick-start business.”

Greg Reeves, managing director of Connections, added: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau to deliver the third edition of this bespoke event.

“Since 2020, Tokyo has been consistently preparing and waiting to welcome guests from around the world, and we recognise the importance of Connections Luxury Tokyo in supporting the recovery and resurgence of the city’s tourism industry.

“It remains a key destination for the luxury traveller, and we are looking forward to presenting its unique experiences first-hand to our luxury buyers.”
