Six Senses to open properties in Costa Rica and Iceland

Six Senses has confirmed plans to open two new properties in Costa Rica and Iceland.

Six Senses Papagayo in Costa Rica (pictured) is set to open in 2021, while Six Senses Össurá Valley in Iceland is scheduled to follow a year later in 2022.

Located a 40-minute drive from Liberia International Airport on the 2,300-acre Papayago Peninsula, Six Senses Papagayo will be a private and eco-conscious destination home to 41 secluded pool villas and 31 residences.

The resort will centre around the Six Senses wellness programmes, as well as an extensive spa, fitness centre and an organic farm growing fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Meanwhile, the 70-room Six Senses Össurá Valley is situated within 4,000 acres of privately-owned land in Svínhólar near Lóniin in Iceland.

It will be built using renewable and locally-sourced materials, with a welcome lobby integrated into the surrounding environment.

The property will also feature a library; a cinema room; a Six Senses spa with fitness centre and yoga studio; a farmhouse with an organic kitchen and cooking school; and an Earth Lab showcasing the project’s sustainability efforts.

Active guests will be able to enjoy nature-based activities including dog sledging, horseback riding, ice and rock climbing, bird watching and boat trips.
