Six Senses appoints Guy Heywood as chief operating officer

Six Senses has recruited Guy Heywood as chief operating officer.

The veteran hotelier has over 30 years’ experience in the international hotel and tourism industry and joins the company from Alila Hotels and Resorts after eight years in the same role.

Holding both Australian and British citizenship, Heywood started his career down under as the restaurant and lounge manager at InterContinental Sydney.

He later made a name for himself within the Aman brand, starting as general manager of Amankila in Bali and rising to country manager of Aman Resorts America and Caribbean. 

Heywood has also held roles at The Regent Sydney, Four Seasons and Voyages Hotels and Resorts.

“[Six Senses] has set new standards for thoughtful luxury, guest experience and environmental practices,” Heywood said of his appointment. “This role is the ideal culmination of my past experiences all amalgamated into one.”
