Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is set to open a property on the island of Barbuda.
The luxury hotel brand said the island was the “ideal fit” as it seeks to grow its presence in the Caribbean.
The new property will be set on 85 secluded acres with a 900-metre stretch of beachfront. Rosewood Barbuda will feature 50 resort suites and 35 Rosewood Residences.
Guests will also find the brand’s integrative wellness concept, Asaya Spa, which will boast six treatment rooms, an expansive fitness centre and two pools, including one dedicated to families.
The property will also offer three dining outlets including a farm-to-table restaurant which will showcase the flavours of the island and celebrate local produce.
Rosewood Barbuda is set to open in 2028.
It will join the brand’s existing Caribbean resorts: Rosewood Baha Mar in the Bahamas, Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands, and Rosewood Le Guanahani in Saint Barts.
“Rosewood Barbuda will effortlessly complement the existing natural wonders that have long made this intimate destination so captivating,” said Rosewood president Radha Arora.
“It is an honour to work with all parties involved in the project to realise our shared vision of creating an ultra-luxury resort that exists in harmony with its surroundings, providing guests with an escape in the truest sense of the word.”
The prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne, added: “This significant investment will greatly boost Barbuda’s local economy, providing employment and services for the island’s citizens. With sustainable development at the core of the hotel’s construction, the project will solidify Barbuda’s position as the destination of choice for the discerning traveller.”
