Revells Travel opens first high street shop

Luxury travel agency Revells Travel opened its first high street shop this week in Headcorn, Kent.

The shop is located on the village’s high street, next door to the first-floor office space the agency established in February 2023.

The team is hosting an official launch event this Saturday (June 15), with customers and locals invited to celebrate with cake and drinks.

Founder Jamie Revell said the agency was having a “fantastic year”, and had already matched the profit made in 2023. The team has also expanded, with Gemma Smith joining Revell and his business partner, Michael Weight, as a travel consultant in January.

Revell said: “Hopefully the new space that we’ve moved into will help us develop even further. It should allow us to push on even more and we’ll no doubt bring on another employee soon.”

Speaking about future plans, Revell said the agency was already thinking about the potential to open a second shop.

“We’re trying to scope out the right location for the next one – we will stay in Kent, hopefully in a nice village similar to where we are now,” he said.

Revell said the work his team had carried out in the local community had also helped boost sales. The agency has partnered with local charity the Big Cat Sanctuary and frequently donates free nights’ stays to auction off, which has led to a surge in safari bookings.

“Our safari business has gone through the roof, and that’s where we specialise, because of our connections with this charity,” he said.
