Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has unveiled a new mountainside retreat for guests staying at two of its properties in Megève, France. 

The Idéal Suite is located above Megève village at an altitude of 1,850 metres and is available to be booked for one night for those staying a minimum of three nights at Four Seasons Hotel Megève or Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois Megève, A Four Seasons Hotel.

The ski-in/ski-out suite is located above famed lunch restaurant l'Idéal 1850 and accessible only by a cable car or snowcat.

It is spread across an entire floor, offering views of Mont Blanc and the Aravis mountain range and featuring three bedrooms, a dining room, living room, lounge and terrace with a telescope for stargazing.

The primary bedroom offers an impressive view of the surrounding peaks and features a private bathroom with a shower and bathtub overlooking Mont Blanc.

Four Seasons said the suite “borrows the codes of traditional Savoyard chalets while keeping a twist of modernity”, with ornamental details including art objects selected by Baroness Ariane de Rothschild.

The Idéal Suite comes with a dedicated in-house butler which Four Seasons said would coordinate “every detail” of the stay.

The ‘A night in the Clouds’ offer includes two nights in one of the Four Seasons Megève Collection hotels, one night in the Idéal Suite, breakfast for two, dinner for two with a la carte Savoyard specialities including a selection of French wine from head sommelier Samy Sbity, a round-trip pedestrian pass on the ski lifts and butler service. Access and ski equipment can be booked as an option. 

Due to its location, guests can be among the first to access the ski slopes in the morning. Alternative activities include snow-shoeing, a hot air balloon ride at sunrise, a dog sled ride, an introduction to electric snowmobiling and a helicopter ride over the Alps.

Rates start from €5,350 for a two-night stay at Les Chalets du Mont d'Arbois, Megève, A Four Seasons Hotel and one night in the Idéal Suite or €8,950 for a two-night stay at Four Seasons Hotel Megève and one night in the Idéal Suite. Rates are based on two people sharing.
