Emma Raducanu to host tennis sessions for Maldives resort guests

Tennis star Emma Raducanu will host sports sessions for guests at a Maldives resort.

On October 27, guests staying at Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences can take part in hour-long “tennis clinics” with the 2021 US Open champion where they will learn tips from the 19-year-old.

Raducanu will also attend a meet-and-greet with people staying at the resort, which she hopes will encourage them to take up tennis.

“I’m delighted to discover the Maldives for the first time. I will share my experience with the guests and have an amazing time there,” she said.

The resort said Raducanu is the “latest in a long line of tennis masterclasses” hosted by former champions at Amilla, including former world number ones Angelique Kerber and Pat Rafter, to Olympic gold medallist Sascha Zverev, and Davis Cup winner Viktor Troicki.

Wheelchair tennis player Cisco Garcia will visit the resort at the end of September to support it with its plans to extend the option to play tennis on its courts to guests with disabilities.
