Colletts Travel appoints first managing director

Colletts Travel has appointed its first managing director.

The luxury agency, which was bought by US firm Travel Leader Group in February 2017, has hired Neil Robinson for the role.

Robinson, who founded Corporate Style Travel, will oversee Colletts’ Hendon office and its London-based brand Fortune Travel.

He started his business as an Independent Travel Advisor for Travel Leaders-owned Protravel International in 2013, and it grew to cover leisure, corporate and event travel.

Founder Roy Collett will become brand ambassador for Colletts Travel and co-founder Michael Berlin will also stay involved, offering guidance to Robinson.

Robinson will report into Jason Oshiokpekhai, managing director of Protravel International UK and its brands which include Colletts Travel, Scotia Travel and Tzell Travel Group UK.

Oshiokpekhai said: “Neil’s enthusiasm for the travel industry, alongside his experience in running his own successful business at Protravel, means that he is well-positioned to embrace the role of managing director at Colletts Travel.

“The luxury travel sector is a burgeoning market in the UK and Neil’s background will help to streamline our efforts for potential growth areas as we look to strengthen our network and expand our talented team of agents and independent contractors.”

Robinson added: “Colletts Travel has built an impeccable reputation for delivering exceptional service and personalisation over the last 36 years and I am honoured to be part of continuing its legacy and planning for the next phase of its growth.”

Founded in 1983, Colletts Travel has locations in Hendon and Temple Fortune (Fortune Travel) as well as a standalone division in Rossendale, Lancashire.
