Banwa Private Island to open in the Philippines

An exclusive-use-only private island is opening in the Philippines next month.

Banwa Private Island is located in the northern part of Palawan, an archipelagic province comprising over 1,780 islands and islets, just a 60-minute private jet transfer from Manila.

The property centres around six, beachfront villas - a selection of one, two and four-bedroom residences – which can collectively sleep up to 22 people. Each villa boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a private infinity pool and jacuzzi deck. Additional accommodation - 12 garden rooms and a presidential suite - can take the total occupancy to 48.

Facilities on the 14.5 acre island include a short-range golf course, a spa (with unlimited treatments), a tennis court, helipad, gym and Pilates studio, as well as multiple restaurants and bars.

On the water, Banwa Island is home to a fleet of boats, including a Wajer 38 limousine tender and a Lagoon 630 Catamaran yacht, as well as Hobie Cat sailing, jet-skis, paddleboarding, snorkelling and kayaking. Divers can utilise the island’s experienced dive team and take a trip to the nearby Tubbataha Reef, ranked one of the top eight dive sites in the world.

Considering its pristine location and proximity to one of UNESCO’s seven wonders of nature, Puerto Princesa, Banwa island also takes sustainability seriously and works with sister company Aquos Foundation to support research and conservation projects within the region.

Nightly rates start from $100,000 for exclusive use of the island. Go to banwaprivateisland.com for more information.
