The Sukhothai Bangkok confirms completion of new Club Wing

Sukhothai Hotels & Resorts has completed a multimillion-pound renovation of The Sukhothai Bangkok.

The iconic hotel now boasts a Club Wing, complete with 33 rooms and suites, a Club lounge, a new high-tech fitness centre and a renovated swimming pool with surrounding cabanas.

It’s also home to the multi-award-winning La Scala Italian restaurant, which too underwent an extensive six-month makeover.

The facelift was helmed by renowned American architect and interior designer Ed Tuttle, who originally designed the property 27 years ago.

His reimagining of the contemporary hotel continues to pay homage to the illustrious 13th century era, with the residential-style wing reminiscent of the capital's ancient palaces.

It forms the first stage of an expansive and multi-phased restoration of the famed hotel, coming hot on the heels of its sister property, The Sukhothai Shanghai, opening last year.

In a bid to raise the hotel’s international profile, the Asia-based Sukhothai Hotels & Resorts has appointed hotel representation company, The Art of Hospitality, to represent the brand in the UK and US markets.

General manager Thomas Schmitt-Glaeser explained: “The Sukhothai Bangkok embraces everything that is Thai – from gracious hospitality to iconic design. We want to celebrate its next chapter by having more of the world experience its magic first hand.

“Working with the team at The Art of Hospitality will open those doors in important markets.”

The Sukhothai Club Wing is now open.
