The Islands of Tahiti selected to host surf events of 2024 Olympic Games

The Islands of Tahiti have been selected as the host destination for the surf events of the 2024 Olympic Games for the first time in history.

Tourist board Tahiti Tourisme said the famous surf spot of Teahupo’o on Tahiti’s peninsula, which features seven surf spots within five miles of each other, would become the top surf spot of 2024 for surf athletes.

It encouraged travellers visiting the islands for the surfing games to stay in a traditional Tahitian guesthouse for the complete Polynesian experience.
