Boutique hotel collection Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has added seven member properties to its portfolio.
The hotels span destinations including China, Croatia, Greece, Spain, the UK, the US and Kazakhstan.
The new additions include Rothay Manor in Ambleside in the UK, a 23-room, pet-friendly manor house in the Lake District. The property has recently unveiled eight new suites, completing a five-year, £1.25million renovation.
Two new properties have also joined the SLH collection. Hotel Villa Soro in San Sebastián, Spain, and Palazzo Rainis Hotel & Spa in Novigrad, Croatia, both opened in April.
Hotel Villa Soro has been renovated by the Soldevila-Ferrer family, owners of Majorcan icons Sant Francesc and Can Ferrereta Hotel.
The former aristocratic villa was originally designed by prestigious architect Luis Elizalde in the late 19th century and is one of few heritage properties in San Sebastián. The 25-room boutique hotel retains traditional features such as a grand central staircase, a wood-panelled bar, open fireplaces and a stained-glass window from the historic chapel.
Meanwhile, Palazzo Rainis Hotel & Spa is a reconstruction of the former Villa Rainis, built in the style of neo-Renaissance Venetian palazzos by the Rainis family, who moved from Venice in the 19th century. Rooms feature wrought-iron balconies, parquet floors and handpicked furnishings, and there’s also a fine dining restaurant and bar.
SLH has also added a beach resort in Greece - the 100-room Summer Senses Luxury Resort in Paros; a 15-room country house in the Hamptons in the US called The Roundtree, and mountain retreat Yangshuo Joro Hotel in Guilin, China, which offers 35 rooms on the Lijiang River.
The final property to join the SLH collection is The Veil in Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan (pictured). The conceptual property features a unique and multi-faceted design as well as 47 rooms with city or river views, a state-of-the-art spa including a steam room and Turkish hammam, and four restaurants.
