The Britannic Explorer will offer three routes across Cornwall, The Lake District and Wales
Belmond has revealed a first look of its new luxury sleeper train, set to debut in July 2025.
The Britannic Explorer, A Belmond Train will depart from London, offering three-night journeys across three routes through Cornwall, the Lake District and Wales.
The itineraries are scheduled so travellers can combine two regional journeys in one trip, with the Cornwall and Lake District routes running from Friday to Monday and the Wales route from Monday to Thursday.
The Britannic Explorer will feature 18 cabins including three Grand Suites as well as a spa, bar and restaurant carriage. During the daytime, beds in double and twin suites will be refashioned into sofas.
Each itinerary onboard The Britannic Explorer will include guided excursions, such as visits to galleries and national parks, escortedhikes and wild swimming.
For guests travelling through the Cotswolds on the Lake District route, The Britannic Explorer will offer a stop at two-Michelin-starredhotel and restaurant Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel in Oxfordshire.
Each of the three routes will feature afternoon tea, lunch and dinner menus using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, overseen by award-winning restaurateur Simon Rogan.
Vice-president of trains and cruises at Belmond, Gary Franklin, said: “I am incredibly proud to launch this revolutionary new train, which further enhances Belmond’s global portfolio of market-leading luxury rail experiences.
“The Britannic Explorer offers something truly unique; an opportunity to discover the rugged Cornish coastline to Snowdonia’s untamed National Park and the vast expanses of the Lake District like never before.”
Trips on board The Britannic Explorer start from £11,000 based on a double cabin and three-night itinerary including excursions, meals and alcoholic beverages
