Rosewood to manage Villa Magna in Madrid
Rosewood Hotels will manage iconic Spanish property Hotel Villa Magna in Madrid.
It will be the brand’s first hotel in Spain and fourth in Europe, and is part of Rosewood’s strategy to expand into prime European locations.
It has been closed during the pandemic and will reopen on September 1 remaining independent until Rosewood takes over management following a refurbishment which is due to complete in late 2021. It will remain open during the revamp.
The hotel will then become Rosewood Villa Magna.
Located on the Paseo de la Castellana, it will have 150 rooms and suites and a Rosewood spa.
Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, said: “As one of the world’s most alluring cultural capitals, Madrid is an ideal destination in which to raise the Rosewood flag, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to join together with our valued partners at RLH to breathe new life into one of the city’s most prolific properties, Villa Magna.”
Rosewood already operates Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany; Rosewood London; and Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel in Paris. Additional European properties set to open in the next three years include Rosewood Vienna, which will open in 2022; Rosewood Munich, in 2023; Rosewood Venice in 2023; and Rosewood Hotel, Grosvenor Square in London.
