Quark Expeditions has revealed the name of its new vessel scheduled to launch late in 2020.

The vessel named Ultramarine will have two twin-engine helicopters on two ‘helidecks’ and 20 Zodiacs onboard.

Ultramarine will also be able to operate for 70 days, ensuring that passengers will be able to access rarely-visited landing sites.

The line said the ship’s debut Antarctic 2020-21 programme is due to go on sale this summer.

Quark Expeditions’ president, Andrew White, said: “Ultramarine will be an unrivalled operational base for polar adventures.

“This new vessel will allow our guests to go further into the polar regions than ever before.

“Ultramarine has been designed in a way that will continue to allow us to go beyond and take people to places no one else can.”
