The Langham, Jakarta has opened in Indonesia’s capital city marking the brand’s first property in southeast Asia.

The 65-storey hotel is located within a new complex called District 8 in Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), close to the city’s financial, cultural and entertainment centres.

The property features 223 guest rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, in-room entertainment, smart technology and marble bathrooms with rain showers and free standing soaking bathtubs.

The Presidential Suite offers a spacious living room and dining area, an outdoor terrace with views of the city, an in-suite gym with an on-demand trainer, dedicated 24-hour on-call butler service and a bathroom with an oversized bathtub, twin vanities and separate spa bath.

The Langham Club lounge is located on the hotel’s 59th floor and will offer complimentary food and beverages, a writer’s corner, a reading library and private arrival and departure facilities with dedicated butlers for personalised service.

The Langham, Jakarta will feature several celebrity restaurant partnerships, including Tom’s by Tom Aikens; T’ang Court, inspired by its three-Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant namesake at The Langham, Hong Kong; and Japanese restaurant Morimoto by ‘Iron Chef’ Masaharu Morimoto.

The property will also offer afternoon tea at Alice in the grand dining emporium and a new outpost of the brand’s bar, Artesian.

Other facilities include a Chuan Spa, which will provide treatments inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, a fitness centre and Jakarta’s highest indoor infinity pool; a large ballroom, an outdoor garden and 11 meeting rooms.

The Langham, Jakarta was designed by Singapore-based architecture firm Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart and features classical design elements. A large chandelier featuring 3,000 crystal butterflies can be found in the arrival lobby on the ground floor, while a second 10-metre-high chandelier can be found on the 62nd floor in the Sky Lobby.

The hotel also features a curated collection of art showcasing works from Indonesian artists, painters and photographers.

Brett Butcher, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group, said: “The opening of this beautiful hotel in Jakarta is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to delivering the very best product, facilities and service in this international gateway city.

“Partnering with Indonesia’s premier developer Agung Sedayu Group, we have been able to create something truly remarkable to welcome our guests to one of the very best hotels in the world. We are taking luxury to new heights and I couldn’t be prouder to include The Langham, Jakarta to our collection.”
