French hotel group Beaumier to open first property in Switzerland

French hotel group Beaumier is set to open a new property in Switzerland this summer as well as reopen two refurbished resorts in Ibiza and Provence on May 1.

The Grand Hôtel Belvédère will mark the brand’s debut in Switzerland and is the first five-star resort in the alpine region of Wengen.

The ski resort features 71 rooms and 19 suites set across two buildings overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Two restaurants at the resort, Brasserie Belvedere and Restaurant Waldrand, will serve traditional Swiss cuisine with “contemporary touches” using local ingredients.

The spa houses two saunas, a hammam, an indoor pool and an outdoor infinity pool.

Alongside skiing, activities at the resort include guided tours, mountain biking, yoga and Pilates.

In Provence, Capelongue is set to reopen following a renovation that added 41 new rooms to the property, bringing the total to 57 rooms and suites.

The hotel now also features a 320-square-metre spa - including a Roman and cryogenic bath, a hammam, three treatment rooms and a fitness room - and a new restaurant, La Bergerie, which sits alongside the existing Michelin-starred La Bastide.

Beaumier is also set to reopen Hotel Petunia in Ibiza following a complete refurbishment of the property.

Located on the south-west coast of the island, the hotel has 11 rooms and 21 suites, including new family rooms to welcome children for the first time.

The renovation also includes three new restaurants and bars.
