Joali Being to welcome children for first time this summer

Luxury wellness resort Joali Being will welcome children for the first time this summer.

The island retreat in the Maldives, which has previously been open to guests aged 14 years and above, will introduce a Joy of Being children’s programme for those aged six to 12 during the months of June, July and August.

The weekly seven-day programme will be designed around the resort’s four pillars of mind, skin, microbiome and energy and will offer age-appropriate activities designed by the resort’s team of naturopaths, therapists, movements experts and nutritionists.

A statement from the brand said the new programme will teach young guests to “connect with nature and discover the power of science and the importance of wellbeing in an exciting, fun and creative way”.

Physical wellbeing activities will include jungle yoga, nature scavenger hunts, tennis camp, football tournaments and ‘Ninja’ martial arts classes, while those wishing to learn more about marine biology can partake in snorkelling lessons, a dolphin cruise, ‘sea gardening’ practice and a ghost net bracelet workshop.

For budding chefs, there will be MasterChef-style cooking classes as well as kombucha tasting classes and smoothie and ‘nice-cream’ making lessons.

Joali Being’s expert herbalist will also run medicine garden and herbology workshops to teach junior guests about the power of plants.

The Joy of Being retreat will cost $150 (subject to taxes) per night per child per stay, in addition to usual villa rates and full board basis.

Joali Being has villas from $2,839 per night based on two people sharing a Grand Beach Pool Villa on a B&B basis. The hotel has a minimum stay of three nights.
