Baillie Lodges welcomes Barossa Valley property The Louise

Luxury property collection Baillie Lodges has acquired The Louise in Australia’s Barossa Valley.

The property, located in the renowned wine-producing region northeast of Adelaide, will join the collection in September 2021.

A former country motel, The Louise was transformed into a luxury hideaway 16 years ago by owners Jim and Helen Carreker. It features 15 suites and a restaurant showcasing the Barossa community’s wines and produce.

Baillie Lodges said guests could expect “a seamless transfer of ownership”, with all staff remaining at The Louise under the leadership of general manager Kylie Mansfield.

The luxury property collection branded the acquisition “a natural fit representing the culmination of many years of industry association, collaboration and friendship".

“We’re delighted that Jim and Helen have entrusted us to continue their legacy and vision for creating exceptional culinary tourism in the Barossa,” said founder James Baillie.

The Baillie Lodges portfolio includes Australian properties Longitude 131°, Capella Lodge and Silky Oaks Lodge. Its flagship property, Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island, was destroyed in the 2020 bushfires but is currently being rebuilt.

The company also owns Huka Lodge in New Zealand and Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge in Canada.
