Experiential travel company AndBeyond is rebuilding its popular camp in South Africa and has confirmed plans to expand into Laikipia in Kenya.
AndBeyond Phinda Forest Lodge (pictured) in the Phinda Private Game Reserve in the South African province of KwaZulu Natal opened in the early 1990s and is recognised as one of the first true eco-lodges.
The brand said the lodge refurbishment would utilise the existing lodge and room structures to minimise an entire rebuild.
The main structural additions will include a family suite, a library and lounge, a walkway with central fire pit linking the main area to the library, a newly reshaped and tiered pool, and a significant upgrade to the main dining and bar area.
AndBeyond has also announced an Exclusive Tourism Concession over the 44,000 acre Suyian Conservancy in Kenya with global charity Space for Giants.
The lease enables the brand to build and develop a lodge, tented camp, sky beds and mobile camping in the private wildlife conservancy.
Suyian boasts a variety of landscapes including grasslands, savanna, rocky outcrops, dense vechellia woodlands and nearly 10 miles of river frontage, which is home to wildlife including the rare black panther.
AndBeyond Suyian Lodge is expected to open in 2025.
