Virgin Limited Edition’s Kasbah Tamadot to add six riads to inventory

Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition property Kasbah Tamadot is to add six two-bedroom riads to its inventory.

Each riad will sleep up to four people and has been designed for families or small groups.

The accommodation will feature a spacious Deluxe Pool Suite and a Deluxe Room connected by a separate living area. Patio doors in the living space will lead out onto a private pool and a large terrace with sun loungers.  There will also be a typical Moroccan rooftop terrace with a covered lounge area and fireplace.

Each riad will be individually decorated using traditional Moroccan furnishings in keeping with the hotel’s existing décor and surroundings.

Hand-woven soft furnishings, including bathmats and rugs, will be made by local artisans supported by the Eve Branson Foundation (EBF), the not-for-profit organisation spearheaded by Sir Richard Branson’s late mother that works closely with the property to deliver artisanal training, protect the local environment and provide healthcare and education within the community.

The riads will also feature antiques and items from the collection of Kasbah Tamadot’s former owner, renowned antiques dealer and interior designer Luciano Tempo.

The new riads are now available to book for travel from September 2024. Rates start at 32,000 Moroccan dirham, or around £2,600, for four people sharing a riad on a B&B basis.

The riads will join the property’s existing 29 rooms and suites, which include 11 luxury Berber tents and the Master Suite - a miniature replica of the Kasbah.

General manager David Redouane Assabbab said: “We are thrilled to announce the addition of six new riads to our magical retreat here in the Atlas Mountains. The land that we are developing has always been an unused part of our grounds and we’re extremely excited to be able to make the most of it and bring a further choice of accommodation to our future guests.

“This expansion of Kasbah Tamadot’s offering will provide luxurious and self-contained accommodation for families and small groups to relax in, whilst also enjoying the many activities and authentic experiences that we have to offer.

“In true riad style, they will be centred around their own private pool and peaceful garden, with incredible views of Mount Toubkal from the roof terrace – fitting additions to our very special hotel.”

Kasbah Tamadot featured in the debut episode of the fifth series of BBC1 programme Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby. The luxury hotel in Morroco’s Atlas Mountains offers activities inspired by Berber culture including mule trekking, Berber cooking lessons, learning to bake Berber bread and taking tea at a house in the neighbouring village.
