Virgin Atlantic is set to suspend operations to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos following a network review.

The final flight to Turks and Caicos will depart on February 21, 2025, with the carrier’s last flight to The Bahamas operating on February 23, 2025.

The airline said it would contact customers to discuss “next steps”, including a full refund or alternative flights with another carrier.

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said: “As we continue to focus on optimising our network, we regularly review the destinations we fly to.

“As part of this, we’ve made the decision to increase our frequencies to Antigua, Barbados and Cape Town next year, and to sadly suspend operations to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.

“We’re very sorry for the disappointment caused to our customers flying to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos and anyone booked to travel on these routes from February 24 and February 22 respectively will be contacted with their options.”

There are currently three flights a week to The Bahamas and two to Turks and Caicos.

Antigua flights will increase to four per week for the winter 2024 season, ending on April 30, with Barbados services increasing to 10 per week.

Seasonal flying to Cape Town will be extended by a month to end on April 30.

The carrier will continue to fly direct to Montego Bay four times a week.
