Luxury travel network Traveller Made has launched a new community of advisors and partners known as Takumians.
Having rebranded to Serandipians in 2021, the network has now reverted to its original name, with both Serandipians and Takumians acting as sister communities within Traveller Made.
The announcement comes as Serandipians approaches its cap of 600 member agencies worldwide.
Diana Nuber, commercial director and media relations at Traveller Made, said: “The main difference between Takumians and Serandipians is chronological; Serandipians being the first 600 agencies to join our community since the beginning of Traveller Made in 2013. We will soon reach this number, and while some agencies in some geographies can still join Serandipians – as we are aiming for balanced numbers in Europe, The Americas and Asia Pacific – others, in places where we have reached the maximum number of Serandipians, are joining as Takumians.”
She confirmed Serandipians had reached its maximum number of UK agencies, with new members from the region now joining as Takumians.
The Takumians community currently comprises more than 50 member agencies and 100 hotel partners worldwide.
Traveller Made said it planned to keep “a very close balance” between the number of agencies and suppliers in the network.
“The number and diversity of suppliers will grow to satisfy the needs of our member agencies, and as we want to also make sure our supplier partners get all their fair share of business, we’ll grow the number of agencies proportionally, provided of course they match our selection criteria,” Nuber added.
Traveller Made founder and chief executive Quentin Desurmont confirmed plans to cap the Serandipians network at The Essence of Luxury conference in Marbella in March.
Speaking to Aspire, he said: “I’ve always promised that we would never have more than 600 Serandipians’ agencies. To maintain the network at 600 maintains a certain amount of intimacy.”
