The Lux Collective to open two properties in Sharjah

The Lux Collective has announced plans to move into the United Arab Emirates with the opening of two new properties in Sharjah in 2023.

The hotel group has partnered with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) to deliver the upcoming properties on the Al Soueifa mountain in the Al Bridi Nature Reserve – reportedly the largest safari park in the world outside of Africa with more than 50,000 animals including native mountain gazelles.

Lux Al Bridi Resort (pictured) will be located within the Sharjah safari project in the city of Al Dhaid, overlooking 1,690 hectares of conservation.

The property will feature 35 private ‘retreats’ and a Lux Me spa, as well as a discovery centre where guests can take part in conservation-focused initiatives in collaboration with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority.

Children can also learn about domestic farm animals with interactive, educational activities at the nearby Al Dhaid Farm, the city’s first petting zoo, located within the conservation zone.

Meanwhile, hillside retreat Lux Al Jabal Resort sits between Khorfakkan Beach and Luluya Beach, facing the Gulf of Oman.

Khorfakkan, which means Creek of the Two Jaws, is set within a crescent-shaped bay and is said to be a favourite among locals for watersports.

The property will offer 45 rooms and suites ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, including a royal suite with a swimming pool.

Guests will have access to a private beach, a spa, children’s activities and experiences designed to connect travellers to the local culture and community, like spending the day at the Sharjah Archaeological Museum discovering the region’s history, which dates back to the second century B.C.

Lux Al Jabal Resort and Lux Al Bridi Resort are both expected to open in 2023.

“We are honoured to be given the opportunity by His Excellency Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal to manage these two extraordinary properties in Sharjah, the perfect showcases for LUX Resorts and Hotels to deliver its Lighter, Brighter hospitality concept to the United Arab Emirates whilst offering imaginative experiences to help people celebrate life,” said The Lux Collective chief executive Paul Jones.

His Excellency Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, executive chairman of Shurooq, added: “Our new partnership with The Lux Collective is in line with our vision to add new and exciting dimension to the luxury hospitality experience in the region, and offer the upscale, modern traveller a multitude of sophisticated experiences that not just satisfy but elevate their unique aspirations.

“Shurooq and The Lux Collective are bound by common values and are committed to providing the highest standards of quality to enhance guest experiences.”

Lux Resorts and Hotels also operates hotels in Mauritius, the Maldives, Ile de la Reunion and China, with new properties in the pipeline in destinations including Vietnam and France.

The Lux Collective has three additional brands: Salt Resorts, Tamassa and Socio.
