Scenic adds new South America land tours to Antarctica itineraries

Scenic has launched three new land tours with the release of its 2022/23 Antarctica programme.

The tours in Argentina, Peru and Chile can be added to Antarctica voyages on board the line’s ‘discovery yacht’ Scenic Eclipse.

Scenic said the excursions gave guests “a more in-depth immersion into the stunning landscapes, history and culture of South America”.

The nine-day ‘Glaciers & Wilderness – Argentinean Patagonia’ tour takes guests from El Calafate to El Chaltén, including native forest walks, a guided ice hike on the Perito Moreno Glacier and an overnight stay at 20-room lodge, Explora El Chaltén, in the Los Huemules Nature Reserve.

Prices for the land tour start from £6,265 per person, based on November 11 or 15, 2022 and January 19, 2023 departures.

In Chile, the eight-day ‘Wild Landscapes of Atacama’ tour takes guests from the city of Santiago to the Atacama Desert, with a stay at the Explora Atacama.

Prices for the excursion start from £4,050 per person, based on an October 30, 2022 departure.

Meanwhile, the eight-day ‘Icons of Peru – A Luxury Journey’ land tour includes a visit to Machu Picchu on board the Belmond Hiram Bingham train, a seven-course degustation private dining experience in the Gold Room of the Pre-Columbian Art Museum of Cusco and hotel stays at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge and Belmond Palacio Nazarenas.

Prices for the tour start from £5,045 per person, based on a November 3, 2023 departure.

The three new land tours can be added to select Scenic Eclipse Antarctica voyages, with prices for the 16-day Antarctica in Depth itinerary starting from £11,955 per person based on a January 24, 2023 departure.

Scenic is currently offering a guaranteed 10% 'earlybird’ saving when a land journey is added to a Scenic Eclipse cruise.

All new bookings are protected by the line's flexible booking policy, which allows guests to defer their cruise to another travel date or itinerary up to 60 days prior to departure.
