Regent ship to feature in new Channel 5 documentary

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ latest vessel will be the focus of new documentary The World’s Most Expensive Christmas Cruise next week.

The hour-long programme, due to air on Channel 5 on Christmas Eve, will follow the 750-passenger’s festive season at sea.

Footage shows 542 crew – led by cruise director John Barron – decorating the vessel with almost £70,000 worth of decorations.

The ship (pictured) has 18 Christmas trees and a 260-foot garland wrapped around the central staircase.

Viewers will also see Splendor visit the line’s parent company’s private island Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Managing director Graham Sadler said: “Our crew have pulled out all the stops, and decked the halls with the most beautiful decorations, to make this a truly magical Christmas voyage for our guests.

“This is a particularly special festive season for us with Seven Seas Splendor celebrating its first Christmas at sea with guests.”

The programme will air at 8pm on December 24, 2021.
