Train specialist Railbookers has launched a new Luxury Rail Journeys brochure in response to growing demand for high-ticket experiences and ‘bucket list’ holidays.

The brochure features a variety of customisable luxury rail experiences including the Venice Simplon-Orient Express, Excellence Class on the Glacier Express, Golden Eagle Luxury Trains and Belmond’s Royal Scotsman.

It also features a range of additional destinations and excursions such as five-star hotel accommodation, dining experiences and river cruise extensions.

The operator said the brochure gave travel agents the ability to “curate bespoke luxury rail journeys for their customers”.

"To date in 2021, Railbookers has been witnessing an incredible surge in higher-ticket holidays,” said the brand’s sales and marketing manager, Anna Davies.

“Whereas before Covid, travellers might have booked the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express one year and then a few years later booked the Grand Glacier Express, this year we are seeing them combining both itineraries and travelling longer, selecting more luxurious accommodation, and making this holiday they have waited a year or more to take something truly spectacular.

She added: “Our average sell at rate for 2021 travel is 56% higher than 2019 (pre-Covid level average sell at rate) and 91% up for 2022."

Product available includes the eight-day Rome and Florence to Paris on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express from £3,349; the six-day Grand Glacier Express, Excellence Class, from £2,699 and the eight-day Royal Scotsman Western Scenic Wonders with Edinburgh and the Highlands from £5,149.
