Panache Cruises embraces overseas remote working

Panache Cruises is promoting the ability of staff to work remotely from overseas after encouraging a valued team member to stay on to manage the company’s content strategy while travelling.

Liv Edwards joined the business in 2020 as a graduate apprentice and has since become a highly regarded member of the team.

She tendered her resignation last year as part of her plan to take a few years out to travel overseas.

James Cole, who founded the firm at the height of the pandemic from his garage in Bolton, said the management team was keen to keep Edwards’s knowledge and experience within the company.

So they worked out a way that she could retain her role, while at the same time pursue her dream of seeing more of the world.

Currently based in southeast Asia, Edwards keeps in touch with the business through email, WhatsApp and via video calls.

She has  joined a number of other employees who cover content writing, customer services and sales working overseas in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Cole said: “Panache Cruises is a digital brand offering exceptional customer service, so in essence any member of our team can work from anywhere in the world, and Liv and other members of the Panache team based in the Canaries are living proof of this.

“In this day and age, it really doesn’t matter where you are based, especially if there is trust and respect between all parties and have a flexible working policy. Liv does an outstanding job for us, and we really didn’t want to lose her skills and experience through her desire to see the world, so have found a really good solution with this remote working relationship.

“As part of her travels Liv has also spent time at sea with our cruise partner Seabourn.

“The business has benefitted directly from this as she was in the right geographic location to visit several ships, conduct interviews and obtain exclusive marketing content for us.”

The company has grown exponentially in the last three years and now employs 40 people, with ambitious plans to grow further over the coming years.
