Nine hotels and restaurants join Relais & Châteaux collection

Nine hotels and restaurants have become members of the Relais & Châteaux collection.

The brand said the new inductees were properties that “respect the local environment and the communities that surround them, with kitchens responsibly sourcing every product”.

New hotels include Borgo Santandrea, the first new luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast in 15 years, and boutique property Château de Maubreuil in Carquefou, France, which was formerly a 17th-century residence.

Central Park Voorburg in The Netherlands, which offers 14 suites overlooking an adjoining deer park, and Hotel & Restaurant Purs in Andernach, Germany, where chef Christian Eckhardt won two Michelin stars soon after it opened, have also joined the portfolio.

In South Africa, Relais & Châteaux has added design lodge Morukuru Family de Hoop, a three-hour drive from Cape Town, which features five suites, a villa and a restaurant within a private reserve populated with flamingo, ostrich, zebra and antelope.

New restaurants include Aramburu in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which opened in 2019 and serves a 20-course tasting menu, and Huniik in Merida in Yucatan, Mexico, which operates a zero-waste policy and highlights small producers on the peninsula.

Two two-Michelin-star restaurants have also joined the collection. In the US, Relais & Châteaux has added Melisse in Los Angeles, which offers just five tables for 14 guests, and in France, La Scène in Paris, which was awarded two Michelin stars just four months after opening.
