Kuoni closes Bristol store as part of shop network review

Kuoni has shut its Bristol town centre store as part of a review of the company’s national store network.

The company, which has another store in John Lewis in Cribbs Causeway just outside Bristol, has already relocated two shop staff to its virtual call centre. The store manager was already due to leave the business.

The review is looking at where there is store duplication and ensuring branches are in the right locations, have adequate footfall and are the “right fit” in terms of customer base.

A spokeswoman said: “We have a store nearby, within John Lewis at Cribbs Causeway, which is a high performing store and they’ll be taking over customer relations.

“This is part of a review looking at where we have got duplication and has been planned for a while as we had the opportunity to come out of the lease.”

She stressed it was not part of a wider plan of store closures, adding: “It’s not part of a wider plan to close stores; we recently opened a new store in Aberdeen and we are also re-locating our Liverpool store to a bigger space.”
