Dog-friendly travel specialist PetsPyjamas has appointed Kerry Golds as non-executive chairman to help the company’s expansion.

The online firm said in a statement: “This strategic move aligns with the company’s ambitious expansion plans and aims to further solidify its position at the forefront of pet-friendly travel.”

Formerly chief tour operating officer for UK, Europe and Australia at Abercrombie and Kent, Golds has “a wealth of experience” in the travel industry, added PetsPyjamas.

In November, luxury concierge company Ten Lifestyle Group announced she would become chief executive of its travel division on January 15.

Golds confirmed to Travel Weekly that she will continue with her role at Ten.

She left Abercrombie & Kent last May after a decade with the firm and previously held a range of senior roles in the premium travel sector.

“Her expertise in luxury travel and deep understanding of customer needs are set to be invaluable assets in guiding PetsPyjamas through its next phase of growth,” added the PetsPyjamas statement.

It described her as “a devoted dog owner”, with her labrador, Tilly.

Golds said: “PetsPyjamas has pioneered this huge opportunity and are perfectly positioned to build on their considerable success to date.

“I am thrilled to be part of something which has quite so much potential and what can be more positive and fun than encouraging people to take their dogs with them – everywhere.”

She told Travel Weekly she will continue

Karen Hanton, co-founder of PetsPyjamas, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Kerry to the PetsPyjamas team. Her impressive track record in the travel sector and her shared vision for inclusive pet-friendly experiences make her an ideal leader for our next stage of expansion.

“With Kerry’s guidance, we are confident that we will build upon our success and continue to lead the way in offering exceptional travel experiences for pet owners and their beloved companions.”

PetsPyjamas offers more than 18,000 pet-welcoming hotels, cottages and B&Bs across the country plus experiences tailored to pet owners.
