Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to open nine properties this year

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is embarking on a year of global expansion with nine property openings planned for 2019.

The luxury hospitality group, which already boasts 111 hotels and resorts across 47 countries, is set to open hotels in Bangkok, Bengaluru, Los Cabos, Montreal, Napa Valley, Boston and Philadelphia.

This year will also mark the group’s long-awaited entry into Greece and Spain, with properties opening in Athens and Madrid respectively.

“Four Seasons is well positioned for continued success in 2019 with the steady and strategic growth of our global portfolio,” said the firm’s president of worldwide hotel operations, Christian Clerc.

He added that Four Seasons also intends to continue building its residential portfolio, with eight of the nine anticipated openings this year including a residential component, and its first standalone residency planned for London.

“We remain committed to offering the very highest standards of hospitality as we expand with a diverse collection of properties, including our entry in Greece and Spain, our first resort set within a world class vineyard in Napa Valley, and the opening of our first standalone residences in London,” Clerc explained.

“With a continued focus on our residential portfolio, we are solidifying our market position as the world leader in luxury branded residential offerings.”

Additional future projects include hotels, resorts and residencies in Dalian, China; Makkah, Saudia Arabia; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Caye Chapel, Belize – as well as a $400m resort on the Japanese Island of Okinawa
