Edition Hotels has confirmed plans to open a property in Doha in late 2022 as it targets eight hotel openings over the next two years.
The hotel will have 200 guest rooms, including 29 suites, two restaurants, three bars and a nightclub.
The tower will be located in Doha’s central business district, West Bay, and will also feature 167 branded residences.
The new Doha site will be the brand’s eighth property to open by 2022, after the opening dates of seven upcoming properties were pushed back due to the pandemic.
The Reykjavik Edition (pictured) is now scheduled to open in mid 2021, while the Tokyo Edition, Ginza – the brand’s second hotel in the city – and new properties in Rome and Dubai are on track to open in late 2021.
The openings of the Madrid Edition and the Tampa Edition have been pushed back until early 2022, while the Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai is scheduled for mid 2022.
The new openings will bring Edition’s portfolio to 19.
The brand, which is owned by Marriott International and hotelier Ian Schrager, said it expects to announce further expansion later in 2022.
“I’ve always been committed to being involved in special projects on a global scale that reach new heights,” said Schrager.
“I’m thrilled to work together with Marriott, and the opportunity to see these hotels come to life across the world is a dream come true.”
