Citalia and Sovereign release 2022 brochures

Travelopia sister brands Sovereign and Citalia have both launched 2022 brochures, offering less well-known destinations as well as popular resorts in Europe.

Italy specialist Citalia said it has already seen “high” numbers of bookings for favourites such as Lake Garda, Como and Sorrento, but it has added less well-known properties to cater for clients who want to explore the country further.

Heather Green, Italy destination manager for Citalia, said: “We know from our recent bookings that our customers want to return to Italy and feel confident to do so this year.

“Sorrento is our biggest selling single-centre destination and hotels such as the Imperial Tramontano remain popular with our clients.

“Our new brochure for 2022 looks to capitalise on the perennial favourites but also offers some lesser-known suggestions.

“Twin- and multi-centre holidays are growing again as travellers want to explore further afield and use the country’s efficient high-speed rail network.”

New for Citalia is Hotel Tiferno in Umbria, where a five-night B&B stay costs from £549 including flights from Gatwick.

Another new option is Botania Relais & Spa, an adults-only on the island of Ischia. A seven-night B&B stay costs from £1,099 including flights from Gatwick and private airport transfers.

Meanwhile, new options for Sovereign clients include the adult-only Secrets Bahia Real Resort and Spa, Fuerteventura (pictured); Grecotel Kos Imperial, Greece; and Grand Park Hotel Rovinj, Croatia – featured on the recent BBC Amazing Hotels series.

Simon Garrido, Sovereign head of sales, said: “Recent bookings are indicating that customers are both confident to plan ahead and take a late escape. Our island destinations have proved very popular, with many upgrading their holidays to suites or private villas, and the average duration has increased.

“Greece has proven popular for the early summer with Corfu, Crete and Halkidiki gleaning the majority of the bookings.

“Traditional winter sun destinations such as Tenerife and Lanzarote have picked up most of the late winter sun bookings following the removal of the day-two testing requirements.”

A seven-night stay at Secrets Bahia Real Resort and Spa on a B&B basis costs from £849, while a seven-night half-board stay at Grecotel Kos Imperial is priced from £599. Both prices including flights from Gatwick, private airport transfers and free lounge access.
