Capella to make debut in Taiwan

Capella Hotels and Resorts is set to make its debut in Taiwan this winter with the opening of Capella Taipei.

The 86-room property is located in Taipei’s Songshan district where guests can visit the Xingtian Temple and art neighbourhoods such as Taze-Neihu and Songshan Culture Park.

A statement from the brand said the design of the property – by Hong Kong-based design studio André Fu Studio – incorporates “concepts of contemporary comforts, lifestyle entertainment and well-being”.

The hotel will feature multiple culinary offerings including the Grill which will serve a French-inspired seasonal menu, a Japanese Omakase venue and a restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine with Taiwanese influences.

The Capella Wellness spa will offer healing treatments inspired by traditional Taiwanese practices as well as Capella’s signature wellness offerings based around the phases of the moon.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a fitness studio and outdoor heated pool.

Cristiano Rinaldi, president of Capella Hotel Group, said: “We’re thrilled to unveil a new chapter of bespoke luxury in Taipei, a city that harmoniously blends cultural vibrancy with a burgeoning luxury market. Capella Taipei is not just a hotel; it’s an invitation to immerse in a culture rich in heritage and to create memories that resonate beyond a stay.”

The Capella Hotels and Resorts portfolio currently includes properties in Singapore, Sydney, Ubud, Bangkok, Hanoi, Shanghai and Hainan.

The brand is set to open properties in Kyoto, South Korea, Riyadh and Nanjing in 2025 and in the Maldives and Shenzhen in 2027.
