French hotel group Beaumier acquires three properties in Switzerland

French hotel group Beaumier has acquired three properties in Wengen, Switzerland for an undisclosed sum.

Belvédère, Silberhorn and Wengener Hof were previously owned by family-run hotel group Wengen Classic Hotel.

The three properties are located in the centre of Wengen with ski-in/ski-out capabilities and views of the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

The acquisition is Beaumier’s first purchase outside of France and forms part of the brand’s ambition to acquire high-end hotels across premier seasonal leisure destinations in Europe.

The brand’s existing portfolio includes eight properties in the French Alps, Provence and the Côte d’Azur. Beaumier recently renovated three of its ski properties in Megève and Val Thorens.

Eric Dardé, chief executive of Beaumier, said: “We are excited to bring Beaumier to Switzerland. The addition of these three hotels is a strategic next step for the continued growth in Europe and beyond.

“Our aim is always to create hotels full of life and soul by anchoring them in their local culture and environment. The Zinnert family has created hotels full of heritage and we can’t wait to carry on their legacy, welcoming Beaumier guests to experience the natural beauty of Wengen.”

Wengen Classic Hotels managing director Bettina Zinnert added: “My goal has always been to take Wengen Classic Hotels to the next level. After the passing of my father, I realised that as a family run business, we didn’t have the resources to reach our truest potential.

“I am delighted that Beaumier will help bring the hotels to the top of the market and really put Wengen on the map as a destination. Beaumier is a hotel group that echoes lots of our own values and I am excited to see what is next for these properties.”

The three properties remain open for the current winter season.

Beaumier Group, formerly named Les Hotels d’en Haut, has ambitions to have a portfolio of 15-20 properties and plans to open in destinations including Italy, Spain, Portugal and the UK.
