Christian Louboutin has acquired a stake in hospitality brand Experimental Group.
The French fashion designer joins existing shareholders Jean Moueix and Brookfield Asset Management to support the continued development of the group’s hotel, restaurant and bar portfolio.
A statement from Experimental Group said Louboutin’s “personal investment” cemented his wish to “affirm his passion for travel, style and hospitality, which have always guided his professional and personal life”.
Experimental Group co-founder and partner Olivier Bon said: "Christian Louboutin's entrepreneurial spirit matches the values of Experimental Group. His international reputation, multidisciplinary artistic collaborations, creativity and intuition will be invaluable assets in supporting our development.”
Alexis Dyèvre, who is associated with Christian Louboutin through rattan furniture manufacturer Maison Gatti, is also taking a minority stake in Experimental Group.
The news comes ahead of the brand's upcoming hotel launches in Val d’Isère, Rome and Paris in 2025.
The current portfolio includes 10 hotels in London, Paris, Ibiza, Biarritz, Verbier, Menorca, Venice and the Cotswolds (pictured), as well as six cocktail bars, four wine bars and two beach clubs.
