Atlantis, The Palm unveils booking incentives following UAE amber move

Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai has unveiled a series of booking incentives for British travellers following the UK government’s latest travel announcement.

The United Arab Emirates will move from the UK’s red list to the amber list at 4am on Sunday, August 8 following a traffic light update from transport secretary Grant Shapps on Wednesday evening.

Guests staying at Atlantis, The Palm for five nights or more will be able to convert the cost of their UK departure PCR test into in-resort credit, up to the value of £137 per person.

Alternatively they can opt for a free in-resort Covid-19 test for their journey home. Both options are provided free of charge for guests staying 10 nights or more.

For those staying less than five nights, PCR tests for return journeys can be purchased for £49 and done in-resort thanks to a partnership with one of Dubai’s leading clinics. Printed results are delivered within 24 hours and available to use no more than 72 hours before departure.

Alongside testing incentives, Atlantis, The Palm is allowing UK guests to reschedule their stay for no extra charge until September 30. A 48-hour no charge cancellation policy also applies over the same period.

Timothy Kelly, executive vice president and managing director at Atlantis, Dubai, said: “We are continuously evolving to meet the needs of our customers during this challenging time. We would like to continue to make the travels of our British guests easier by giving back the cost of their UK departure PCR test to spend on a range of amazing in-resort activities and experiences.

“We hope this will continue to reduce any travel inconveniences and encourage more guests from across the UK to visit Dubai’s premier entertainment destination.”

Atlantis, The Palm has recently expanded its Atlantis Aquaventure waterpark by a third, introducing 28 new waterslides and attractions for adults and children. The property has also newly refurbished its guest rooms, updated restaurants Hakkasan, Dubai and Saffron buffet and added a new nail bar, Nailology.

Kelly said he was “delighted” that the UAE has been moved from the UK’s red list to amber status, adding: “We look forward to welcoming British tourists to the resort once again.

“Since the reopening of the city on 7th July,  we have diligently worked with Dubai Tourism and the authorities to ensure Atlantis, Dubai is setting the benchmark for maintaining the highest level of precautionary health and safety measures and this is something UK travellers can continue to expect now they’re able to visit us once again."
