Aqua Expeditions launches first ever partnership with beach resort Nihi Sumba
Luxury cruise line Aqua Expeditions and Indonesian beach resort Nihi Sumba have teamed up to create a new adventure itinerary exploring the remote islands of East Indonesia.
The new seven-night superyacht experience departs Bali aboard Aqua Expeditions’ ocean explorer Aqua Blu and includes a four-night private charter navigating Komodo National Park and three nights at Nihi Sumba, located on Sumba Island.
The itinerary from Bali to Sumba includes a stop at Mayo Island’s secret waterfall, diving among manta rays in Gili Lawah, hiking on Padar Island and observing the Komodo dragon in its natural habitat at Horseshore Bay.
At Nihi Sumba, home to 27 villas and treehouses, guests can go stand up paddle boarding down the Wanukaka river, mountain bike in the Sumba jungle, swim with horses and make use of the property’s spa.
The Aqua Blu x NIHI Sumba experience will be available for international guests between April and September 2021.
“This is an incredibly special collaboration between two brands of renowned hospitality that will showcase the wonders of Indonesia beyond Bali,” said Francesco Galli Zugaro, founder and chief executive of Aqua Expeditions.
“Traversing Indonesia’s Ring of Fire across breathtaking locations and hidden gems as we sail towards the paradise that is NIHI Sumba will be an experience unlike any other.
James McBride, partner and chief executive of Nihi, added: “Our destinations and communities are unparalleled. Chartering Aqua Blu and staying at NIHI go beyond the idea of merely a vacation - it creates a feeling and introduces our guests to a way of life.
“It is a glimpse into a bygone era, centuries of rituals, an unspoiled landscape, and unlimited freedom to explore. That is the true luxury both NIHI and Aqua craft for our guests—at the Edge of Wildness, but still wildly safe.”
