Mauritian hotel operator The Lux Collective has unveiled new upcoming openings in China, Africa, the Middle East and south-east Asia.

Growth plans include an increased footprint in Africa for flagship luxury brand Lux Hotels and Resorts. Futuristic safari camp Lux Xinii Mababe in Botswana will open in Q1 2027 with 26 lodges, each featuring a centrepiece emulating African trees.

The brand will also launch in the Middle East for the first time in Q4 2025 with Lux Al Bridi and Lux Al Jabal in Sharjah and in Vietnam with Luxnam Phu Quoc in Q2 2026, both of which were previously announced.

In Q3 2026, luxury urban resort Lux Guangzhou will join the portfolio in the Huangpu District in Guangzhou City. The resort and residences will be located in two skyscrapers with a variety of dining destinations and a Lux Me Spa.

In addition, sister brand Salt is set to debut outside of Mauritius for the first time with two openings in China.

Salt of Anji will open in Q2 2025 in Anji County, a region known for its white tea and bamboo forests two-and-a-half-hours from Shanghai. The sustainability-focused resort will feature 108 guestrooms and villas, an outdoor pool, themed restaurants and a Salt Equilibrium spa centre.

Salt of Mount Siguniang will join the portfolio in 2027 in the Tibetan village in the Sichuan province, close to the Unesco World Natural Heritage Site of Mount Siguniang National Park. It will mark the first international property to open in this protected area.

Olivier Chavy, chief executive of The Lux Collective, said:As the chief executive of The Lux Collective, I am delighted to lead the group on another exciting phase of global expansion and strategic growth.

“The Lux Collective is a dynamic and pioneering home-grown Mauritian brand which puts people, exceptional service and extraordinary experiences first. The latest projects for Lux and Salt will provide gateways to fascinating and emerging travel destinations such as Anji, Mababe, Phu Quoc and Sharjah, enabling travellers to delve authentically into the unique identity of each region.

“We are thrilled to announce Lux brand’s first opening in Botswana and look forward to putting Lux Xinii Mababe on the map as an ultra-luxury safari and wellness destination. Designed with sustainability in mind and expected to open in Q1 2027, this futuristic project will draw in travellers from all over the world to this alluring location.

“We believe luxury and environmental stewardship must coexist for every resort we open and focus is on creating positive impact while delivering luxurious hospitality and meaningful experiences with a sense of place.”
