Windstar Cruises bolsters leadership team

Windstar Cruises has made two appointments as part of a leadership team reshuffle.

Betsy O’Rourke (pictured, left) joins the line full-time as its new chief commercial officer and Dianna Rom (pictured, right) has been promoted from senior director of sales to vice-president of sales.

For the past decade, O’Rourke has been chief commercial officer at Windstar’s parent, Xanterra Travel Collection. She took on the responsibility of the line’s commercial functions in 2020.

She will now be fully focused on Windstar and “growing the brand in the marketplace”, the line said.

The marketing, sales and reservations teams will report into O’Rourke, who is also responsible for the line’s overall marketing strategy.

President Christopher Prelog said: “We couldn’t be happier to have Betsy fully focused on Windstar moving forward.

“She stepped up and ushered us through the challenges presented by the pandemic and her expertise has us poised for success in the luxury cruise market.”

In Rom’s new position, she will lead the domestic and international sales team and is responsible for developing sales strategies and sales goals at Windstar.

All sales roles – including groups and charters – report into Rom, who has been at the line for seven years in various sales roles.

“Dianna’s sales acumen and knowledge of the travel and cruise landscape is so helpful to all of us at Windstar,” said Prelog.

“She has great relationships within the industry, and she’s an incredible asset for us as we work together to strengthen the brand and reach new to Windstar cruisers.”
