Virgin Voyages previews passenger loyalty scheme

Virgin Voyages is introducing perks for passengers as a precursor to a new loyalty programme at sea in 2023,

The Sailing Club loyalty scheme aims to encourage more repeat cruises and boost travel until the end of the year.

Options include drinks, wf-fi and anytime boarding, exclusive cocktail parties and laundry services.

On board spending and prize give-aways will be available for bookings made by November 15 in addition to an $200 on board spend with the adults-only line.

Passengers also have the opportunity to elevate themselves to the brand’s highest status tier in 2023.

‘Tokens’ to track all qualifying spend are being introduced to ensure passengers are positioned for benefits next year when the full scheme is unveiled.

Members of the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red in the US can redeem Virgin points on sailings from Miami and Barcelona on both Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady.

President and chief experience officerNirmal Saverimuttu said: “This brand was built on innovation, so we’re taking a truly unique approach and developing a programme that will give sailors [passengers] a taste of what’s to come while rewarding those who’ve supported the brand all along,

“I’ve met so many incredible sailors – many who’ve voyaged with us more than 10 times since we’ve launched – and this new programme is a thank you for their commitment.

“We’d also love their help in shaping the future and are seeking their ideas to create a game-changing loyalty programme they’ll fall in love with.”
