Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express extends season into December

The Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, Europe, has extended its season to include a series of journeys in December for the first time.

The train, whose programme traditionally runs between March and November, will now visit Florence, Paris, Venice and Vienna in the final month of the year.

The Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express will travel the Classic Journey from Venice to Paris on December 2 and 12, and from Paris to Venice on December 20.

The train will stop in Florence on December 7 on its Venice to Paris route and December 8 on its Paris to Venice route.

The train will depart from Paris to Vienna on December 17 and will make the return journey (Vienna to Paris) on December 18.

Prices for a one-night journey start at £2,920 per person.

Guests will be able to enjoy a private cabin, winter-inspired seasonal menus courtesy of head chef Jean Imbert and evening cocktails in the Bar Car 3674.

The Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express comprises 17 original 1920s and 1930s carriages, with cabin categories including Historic Cabins and Grand Suites.

The line will add a new cabin category - eight Suites, with marble ensuite bathrooms and lounge areas which convert into either double or twin beds by night - in June 2023.
