Second revamped Windstar ship returns to service

Revamped Windstar Cruises’ ship Star Legend has returned to service on a ten-day Mediterranean sailing.

It is one of three vessels to have been transformed to increase capacity from 212 to 312 passengers.

Star Breeze was the first to launch in June showcasing new suites and expanded outdoor and indoor public spaces.

Star Legend is the second of the all-suite three yachts to emerge from Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard following the stretch and transformation project.

The yachts, including Star Pride, are also claimed to be more environmentally friendly with efficient engines, generators, and advanced wastewater treatment systems.

Star Legend is sailing from Lisbon on a ten-day itinerary to Barcelona stopping at ports including Portimao, Cadiz, Gibraltar, Malaga, Cartagena and Palma.

Five of the line’s six ships are back in service, requiring vaccines of all passengers and crew among health and safety precautions including testing, social distancing, masks and high-tech air filtration.
