Sanctuary Retreats adds two camps in Namibia

Abercrombie & Kent-owned brand Sanctuary Retreats has added two camps in Namibia to its portfolio.

Okahirongo River Camp and Okahirongo Elephant Lodge (pictured) will bring the company’s collection of lodges and camps in Africa to 14.

Okahirongo River Camp is located on a ridge above the Kunene River in the the remote Marienfluss Valley in northwest Namibia.

The camp features five luxury tents, each with a covered deck with river views and indoor and outdoor showers, and one private family tent with a spacious king bedroom, twin room and large decking area.

The open-plan main lodge offers views of the river and mountains and there’s also a camp swimming pool.

Meanwhile, Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is set inside the Puros Conservancy, 55km from the Skeleton Coast and on the banks of the Hoarusib River.

The property features dramatic, earth-coloured architecture. The main lounge and dining room walls are open and an infinity pool offers unobstructed views of the horizon.

Guests can choose from seven private luxury suites, which each feature a private veranda overlooking the desert and ensuite bathrooms, or a private family suite which offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private terrace and an open lounge.
