Rosewood to open new property in the Bahamas

Rosewood Hotels and Resorts is set to expand its Caribbean portfolio with a new property in the Bahamian archipelago of Exuma expected to open in 2028.

Rosewood Exuma will be located on the private island of East Sampson Cay and will comprise 33 suites, six dining venues and the brand’s signature wellness facility Asaya, which will feature six treatments rooms, a hydrotherapy centre, an outdoor pool and a gym. There will also be an outdoor sports centre where guests can play tennis, padel and pickleball, and hire watersports equipment.

The resort will feature a beach club for guests and external visitors, where there will be a grill restaurant, a selection of bars and a private dining room, as well as two marinas that can accommodate yachts up to 45 metres.

In addition to the beach club pool, the property will have two other pools for hotel guests, including one dedicated to families. There will also be a Rosewood Explorers kids’ club.

Sustainable building practices will be put in place throughout the property’s construction, with development taking place on just 25% of the island and solar power energy sources implemented.

Radha Arora, Rosewood’s president, said: “We have conceived Rosewood Exuma to offer a next-generation luxury experience – one that honours the quintessential character of this pristine archipelago and invites guests on a journey of discovery and adventure.”
