Roger Federer stars in Switzerland Tourism campaign

Roger Federer is starring in a new short film advertising Switzerland Tourism.

The tennis champion, a global brand ambassador for the Swiss tourism board, stars alongside comedian Trevor Noah in the three-and-a-half minute film which aims to position Switzerland as an attractive travel destination with a focus on rail travel.

The short film, titled You’re Never on the Wrong Train in Switzerland, was directed by British director Tom Hooper, who won an Oscar for The King’s Speech in 2011.

Switzerland Tourism said it hopes the campaign will raise awareness of the Swiss Travel Pass, a single ticket giving travellers the opportunity to have unlimited use of the country’s train, bus and boat network over three, four, six, eight or 15 days.

It also wants to highlight the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland, a 1,280km journey in eight stages stopping in cities including Lucerne, Zermatt, St. Moritz and Montreux.

The tourism board said: “The Grand Train Tour combines all the famous panoramic routes in one breathtaking round train trip and takes visitors to the country’s most famous sights in comfort and at their convenience.

“The unparalleled train journey can be experienced all year round anrd put together just as you like in terms of duration and route.”
