Canyon Spirit will begin operating an extended route in southwestern US in 2026
Luxury rail company Rocky Mountaineer has rebranded its US-based train and introduced a new route.
The recently renamed Canyon Spirit has operated under the Rocky Mountaineer brand since 2021, but the company said this new identity reflects its “commitment to providing unforgettable train journeys through the American Southwest’s most compelling landscapes”.
Canyon Spirit will offer an expanded three-day Rockies to the Red Rocks itinerary from 2026, connecting Denver, Colorado, to Salt Lake City, Utah.
The journey will include overnight stops in Glenwood Springs in Colorado and Moab in Utah, with an additional day of travel to further explore Utah.
There will be one westbound and one eastbound departure weekly beginning on April 21 next year, operating alongside the existing two-day route.
Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit will operate under new parent company Armstrong Collective.
Speaking to Aspire, Nicole Ford, vice-president of communications, stakeholder relations and sustainability at Rocky Mountaineer, said: “Our vision is that the two train brands, Canyon Spirit in southwestern US and Rocky Mountaineer in Canada, will offer a greater distinction of the regions where guests will be travelling.
“Creating these two brands will enable us to really fuel our future ambitions to continue to grow our luxury train offering.”
Chief executive of Armstrong Collective Tristan Armstrong added: “We could not be more excited to bring our Canyon Spirit train to Salt Lake City, and to expand our Rockies to the Red Rocks route further into the beautiful state of Utah.
“Although the name of our train is changing, our world-class service and onboard experience will remain the same. Our family and team members all look forward to sharing the beauty of the American Southwest with even more guests from across the United States and around the world.”
Rates for the new three-day Rockies to the Red Rocks route on board Canyon Spirit will start from £1,680 per person.
