Move follows the recent acquisition of a majority stake in small-ship line Aqua Expeditions
Ponant has rebranded to become Ponant Explorations Group following its recent acquisition of a majority stake in small-ship line Aqua Expeditions.
The group now includes three cruise lines: flagship brand Ponant Explorations; French Polynesia specialist Paul Gauguin Cruises; and Aqua Expeditions, which offers river cruises in Vietnam, Cambodia and Peru and ocean sailings in the Galápagos Islands, Indonesia and, launching later this year, the Seychelles and Tanzania.
Ponant Explorations Group will retain its signature three-sail logo, and each individual brand will have its own visual identity.
The group’s chief executive, Hervé Gastinel, said: “As Ponant Explorations Group, we confirm our positioning and ambition. We retain true to our core identity: delivering an unparalleled travel experience to iconic destinations, providing exclusive access to confidential locations with our human-scale ships, and maintaining a commitment to excellence in service.”
