Mandarin Oriental to open beachfront resort in Vietnam’s Da Nang

Mandarin Oriental is set to manage a new luxury resort with branded residences in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Scheduled to open in 2024, Mandarin Oriental, Da Nang sits on a 30km stretch of beach which links Da Nang in the north with Hoi An in the south.

The brand said the property would be well located for guests to explore the Unesco World Heritage Sites of Hoi An, My Son and the royal city of Hue.

The hotel will feature 69 villas and 18 residences, each set on their own landscaped gardens with private pools.

There will be five waterfront restaurants and bars, a Mandarin Oriental spa with a focus on nature-inspired programmes, a large outdoor pool, a water sports pavilion and a beachfront pavilion designed for weddings. Two championship golf courses, designed by Colin Montgomerie and Greg Norman, are also close by.

“Da Nang is a leading leisure destination in Asia, and we are delighted to be working with our partners to create a world-class resort here together with residences,” said James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental.

“The project will complement our hotel in Saigon, which will open in 2022, providing our fans with an opportunity to visit two of Vietnam’s most fascinating destinations.”

Vietnamese businessman and owner of the project Dinh Ba Thanh added: “We are pleased to partner with one of the most prestigious brands in luxury hospitality on this exciting project, which will offer visitors an outstanding facility where they can relax in comfort and enjoy the legendary service of Mandarin Oriental.

“The project aims to bring a newly defined ‘Vietnamese Luxury’ experience to the local and international market.”
